find someone with an 04 and see if you can borrow their hood scope for a little bit to see if it fits, i honestly don't know the answer and am curious as well if it fits

Nope, won't fit without modifying the 03 hood. The 04 scoop is deeper (longer front to back) than the 03, so to get it to fit, the hole in your 03 hood would need to be recut/enlarged. Not that it can't be done, it's just not a direct bolt-on. Oh, and when I saw the thread title, i was like "Huh?

I'm not sure if it would be possible, but it might be easier to just buy an entire '04 hood and put it on your '03 WRX. I don't want to imagine what this would cost you though. Oh well, I never said it would be cheaper.

yeah i was wondering that, the 04 hood is different though because of the headlights, it would probably be easier to cut your 03 hood to fit the 04 scoop

Yeah, that makes sense. It would have to be different due to the redesigned headlights.

Dude, just wait. Someone will probably manufacture a 04 style scoop for the 02-03 wrx. Then you won't have to worry about trying to cut into your aluminum hood. They ain't exactly cheap to replace if you screw up.

I seriously doubt an 04 hood will fit on your 03 car. The headlights are not the only change. Everything forward of the windshield is different, including the fenders and grill. Best bet would be the STi scoop that will already fit, or getting the new one, and cutting the hood. A hood swap wouldn't be worth the hassle, I don't think.
