I found this: http://www.auto-theft.info/Statistics.htm
Hondas and Acuras get stolen pretty regularly because there are so many of them and people jack the parts to sell on the market. Rarely do they steal the car and use it as a commuter. I don't think there are really enough WRX sold yet to be used as widely in theft rings - maybe the STi due to it's expensive and exclusive parts, but I don't think theft is too common.

nice to see that subaru isn't on any of those lists. thats probably just because there aren't as many subarus on the road though.
what they need to do is tell you what percentage of a certain model that is on the road gets stolen.

They love to steal scoobies here and are mainly used for house/petrol station robberies. its an ideal car....
4 doors - can fit five scum
Roomy - will take a lot of "gear"
4WD and fast - perfect for our narrow twisty muddy backroads of which there are plenty.
There was a notoriuos gang of filth here known as the "subaru gang" who stole nothing but scoobies (obviously
) and would break into your house in the middle of the night with a shotgun and demand the keys while you shat yourself in the bed, then they are on their merry way to the nearest gas station to steal cigerettes...
I was paid a visit by this particular gang one night.....
you really havent experienced "scary" until you wake up with a gun in your face....
car was found a week later about 30 miles away with a full tank of petrol and perfect condition....
clutch felt a bit second hand alright though...

I heard there are 5 WRX's stolen so far here in Southeast Texas. Sucks!!! It's a very small area too!
I think it's time to look into LoJack! If only OnStar is available, I'd get it.

Or let them steal it, not go to jail for attempted murder, and live, while you collect insurance $$$ for your loss and then take them to court for mod $$$.
Sounds a hell of a lot wiser to me.
