How can I stop my headlights from coming on during the day?

How can I stop my headlights from coming on during the day?
I know it's possible but how can I? I don't like my lights on all day plus it will burn your bulbs faster. Who has done this and how? Thanks

It's a safety feature with our cars. DRL (Daytime Running Lights) is what they're called.. There is a resister in your engine bay on the passenger side. Looks like a rough aluminum box with ribs on it. Has a plug in one side of it and its just a little box that's hanging out. Unplug it, electro tape the harness plug and you're rolling.

I think it does vary. Cause I remember years ago when I did it to mine and I was reading that it was under the glove box. Tore the whole passenger side out looking for this mystery plug.. Ended up being that resister in the engine bay.

The resistor provides the ground path for the DRL system, but the module inside the car is the actual DRL controller. If you unplug the resistor the DRL's will go out, but the module remains active and is still sending 12V to the headlights. Unplugging the module completely de-activates the system.
'02-'05 is the same, except for the '04 STi w/HID's which does not have DRL's. '06-up (I'm pretty sure that was the year it changed) are different, the resistor is still there but de-activating the module is no longer a simple unplug.

What does the one under glove compartment look like?

Like a very large relay, about the size of a pack of cigarettes, with a rectangular 10-pin connector. It's easiest to access it with the glovebox removed, but it is possible to get to it by lying down in the passenger footwell and looking up into the kickpanel area.
