Hi my name is Jennifer, but my friends call me Jen. I'm part Asian part Caucasian and I just bought myself a brand new STI. My friends think I'm wierd for being so obsessive about my car. But I think they are just jealous. I just want to say hi to everyone. I'm actually new to this also.

Oh I forgot to mention, my middle name is Kira, so if anyone wants to call me Kira, that's fine also. Later everyone.

Yeah. I think usually people view women who like cars differently. Most people look at the stereotype of women only need cars for basic transportation. My wife loves to drive the crap out of our Wrx. Nice purchase on the STi, iI'm sure you love it. It is ok to be obsessed. Welcome to the club. Have you done any mods yet?

what turbo sould i buy a vf34 or a vf22?
A lot of people who drive their cars daily like the VF30 (or VF34) for driveability but the VF22 is also streetable, with more top-end power at the expense of a slightly 'soggier' bottom end.

It's great to see people who thinks like you. The only thing I've done to my car so far is having a clear bra installed. And boy am I glad I did. Only a few days after I got the clear bra, I was cut off by a cement truck and rocks started hitting my car. I guess I lucked out because the clear bra prevented any paint chips. So I'm pretty relieved about that.

As far as other modifications, I have so much that I want to do. But, I'm not really sure where to start. Any suggestions?

Anything suspension wise is a good way to go, you will be much happier with those than any power mods. Springs, rear sway bar, coilovers... all depends on what you plan on doing with the car.

I second what kimbo said. The Sti has plenty of power to keep you happy for a while. I would definately concentrate on suspension and maybe cosmetic things for now. I have heard that the praxis air suspension is wicked for the STi. It is really expensive though and i don't know your budget. I think springs and maybe a swaybar would be a good start. Gauges, to keep an eye on things plus they look really cool. If you plan on autoX maybe some harnesses. Also maybe a catback exhaust to get a little more grumble out of that 2.5. I also think a good but often unconsidered mod is driving school. Don't take that the wrong way. Driving schools can teach you so much. I think you have made a good choice by getting on a forum. You can learn a lot here. Just keep reading up on STi stuff. Also i would go to some Suby meets. They are a good place to make friends. You can also get some buddies to help you do installs.

Welcome everyone!

I've read the praxis air suspension is actually a pain in teh *** to deal with. It readjusts every 45 seconds or so. So sometimes you may be driving with one side of the car higher than the other. From the SCC (or turbo or something) review I read it seemed to me that it was a pain in the *** to deal with and that one would be better off w/ just a good set of coilovers or springs/struts. check out Sport Compact Car or Turbo's website. maybe you can find a review.
