Had my mods installed, was fun until ...

Finally made a decision+had my new mods installed:

Blouch 18G
Wallbro 255 pump
InjectorDynamics 1000cc injectors
Cobb SF Intake w/airbox
E85 protune

Car was very fun, making ~ 350 awtq, 320 awhp. Obviously very noticeable over the Stage2 ots cobb map I was running prior with just turboback exhaust.

After a long 4th gear pull on the freeway, the car starts misfiring and throwing CEL's (cylinder 1,2,4 misfire and general misfire codes). Taking it in tomorrow to see what the deal is. Really hoping nothing serious

I am pretty sure its in the tune. I had my wrx tuned with almost identical mods on it and guess what! My car didnt last a month after the tune. My car as pretty much sat in its same spot for the past few months bearly moving it because of the way the car is running... BUILT MOTOR TIME! And Yes, I wont be going to the same tuner!

I won't answer that one until I see if they'll fix it for me tomorrow. And I am sure they will

What exactly was broken on your car other than the tune, after you ran it hard? Was the tuner contacted, etc? Just curious.

It can damage a businesses reputation. He's giving them a chance to fix it. I think he's doing good by the company. But bad tuners should be flagged.

The tune must be horrible to blown on E85!

Hopefully it's some bad coils, rip coupler, etc

Eh, a motor blowing up from a tune, nobody fixes that unless they just built the motor and its still under warranty. If shops had to rebuild the motor for every car that had their tune on it when an engine failed most would have been bankrupted long ago.

So it looks like the valves on Cylinder #2 are bent. Must have skipped timing somehow, and I have no idea how. So, pretty unrelated to the tune+mods installed, and more likely related to how much harder I was driving it than before. Also note that I ran the car hard for at least 3 days, before this happened. So it wasn't like it just happened immediately or anything.

Ugh.

Now I have to figure out what I'm gonna do. This is my DD.

So did the shop that you got the tune from also install your parts? Also I don't know if you answered this or not but is the engine built or the stock motor?

Based on the last bit of info did you get that info from the same shop you got the tune done from?

Yup and Yup as I tuned his car and I also leaked down the dead cylinder with two separate leakdown testers as I thought my personal one might have gone bad
