"Sowing the seed of democracy: In a seminal moment of creative financing, the ARO plant that makes four-wheel-drive vehicles in Campulung-Muscal, Romania, has launched a new program to help pay off its $20 million debt load. Ion Cotescu, leader of the plant's union, told Reuters news service, "Our feasibility study shows that if 1000 workers donate their sperm for several months, we can get enough funds to pay part of the plants debts." A nearby clinic is said to pay $50 per, uh, donation. This would mean that each of the 1000 workers would have to donate only 400 times to pay off the whole debt. Line worker Jonathan Thomas said, "Hey, I'm up for it!" On the downside, one would expect worker productivity to wane and a huge increase in the number of people who appear to related to tennis freak Ilie Nastase."
