Going to Orlando!!
What's up guys...
I'm going on vacation to Orlando from August 20-25, I was wondering if any of you have any coupons for the theme parks there? Namely the Disney theme parks and Universal Studios. Or perhaps any of you would like to sell me discount tickets? I'm sure someone on this board has connections in Orlando. Please help me save some bucks.
There are going to be 4 adults that are going to need tickets. So discounted tickets would be perfect.
Thanks in advance people.

watch out for discount ticket offers when you get there
Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE will try to sell you discount ticket packages to the theme parks - the catch is, it's all a pitch for time-share condos. I suppose you could sit through their pitch if you have the time, but I advise you to just pay regular admission.
I was in that area last March, took some time to check out the various springs, very beautiful. Also had some fun driving on Vilano Beach near St. Augustine.
I suggest you get a Florida Gazetteer, an atlas-sized book that will show you every road in the state (they have them for most other states, too.)
Have fun!

Thanks for the info. That beach driving you did looks fun. I wish I was taking my WRX to drive on the beach there too. Unfortunately, I'm not.
Anyway, thanks again.

It's not easy to get discounted tickets at the theme parks in Orlando unless you know someone who works there. Most places don't even give discounts to us FL residents anymore (Universal doesn't) There's lots of advertisements on the highway, check those out.
One more thing, the speed limit is 5 MPH on the beach. Be darn careful, the cops will f*** you up. To justify my florida expertise, I have lived about halfway between St. Augustine and Orlando for 20+ years.

Thanks crazy,
I'm gonna be there from the 25th to the 29th
On the 27th I'm spending the day at the driving school -- www.GoRally.com

beach speed limit
IIRC it was posted as 15mph at the Vilano Beach access. As I was dicking around, I did kick it up to about 30 or so to see how it would run in third instead of crawling in first. Felt great, even on the soft stuff (coquina, crushed shells).
On Daytona Beach, there is a lot more traffic and police presence. But Vilano looked wide open.
And, despite how things may appear in that shot, I did not run over those sunbathers!

I always wanted to drive on the beach
If you want to goto a pretty decent park check out Busch Gardens. It's near Tampa so it's a few hours away but very fun. Haven't been in a while so I don't know if it is still as good as it used to be.
