GM owns 20% of Fuji Heavy Industries which in turn owns 100% of Subaru. GM and Subaru share things from time to time, like FHI building the 9-2x and 9-2x Aero for GM owned Saab.

Subaru also takes advantage in group buys with asian GM owned/semi-owned companies like Suzuki and Isuzu.

GM has also sold the Forester in India under the Chevrolet badging which has more market penetration then the Subaru in India.

So, um... thats the story between Subaru and GM. Hope that helps (though that page does kind of throw me with no real mention of Subaru or FHI and all those Imprezas all over the place).

Well it could be like the Saab 9-2x.. Which was basically a Wrx wagon with a different front clip. I know Gm bought into Subaru, for their all wheel drive technology.

No it's 20%. They bought it from Nissan, which was ailing at the time and needed to pay off debts. Of course Nissan is now owned by Renault.

Nope.

Chevy Equinox/Saturn Vue are based on an Isuzu platform. The B9 is 100% Subaru. The B9 will likely be translated into a Saab version though.

it will be coming out soon.

when we had a meeting last year with SOA for the release training of the new legacy... from what i understand it. GM does not necessarily own a % of FHI, but SOA. the partnership was created so that SOA could utilize GM's mass power (in terms of key fobs and other accessories) in turn GM gets usage of our wrx wagon platform. along with the new tribeca platform for saabs new suv coming up.
keep in mind that FHI is really a small fish- so to create a "plant" or manufacturer for parts would be ineffective(costwise) so partnering up w/GM just made sense.

now i may be a little off on the ownership part- but i will research into it more.
but i'm pretty sure i'm right on that.
