Getting CEL codes for older Subaru's
Hey guys,
Doing some work on my brother-in-law's 94 Subaru Impreza. It is
hard to start (cranks for a good 15-20 seconds before starting), in
the mornings. Starts fine throughout the day. Problem started when his check engine light came on last week. I'd like to help him out and I do know how to pull codes on my older Supra (jumpering at diag block), but dunno how to do it for this car. Can someone please email me or post some instructions on how to pull codes on the older models? Since it's not ODBII, I can't just take it somewhere like Autozone to tell me.
He has a Chilton's manual and it does make reference to putting in a "code-read" mode, but doesn't say where, or how.
I had a similar problem on my 87 Supra when the cold-start injector had a problem, but I d onn't even know if this car has one....
Thanx in advance....
