i have a 04 wrx and it seems im getting very poor gas mileage.this is freeway driving 5th gear 3k rpmsi get bout 90-100 miles to a half tank.is that right? i have a BOV and i know that makes it run a little rich between shifts. Thanks guys

i get 240 to a tank driving driving normal. driving really slow, not going over 70 on the freeway, i get 280-290

anyways, when the car was new, i'd get pretty bad gas mileage. You would think with all the slow granny shifting and such u should be getting decent mileage. After the car is done breaking in and such, on avg i get about 300 miles a tank with still abouit 1-2 gallons in the car.

 

I have a stock 04 WRX wagon, I drive over HWY17 daily from SJ to SC and get about 20-23 miles per gallon depending on my driving. Usually keep it around 3K.
And so far I have about 12K miles on it.

 

i have an 03 and i drive from soledad to salinas everyday and i always get a consistent 21 and that is having it on cruise at 75.

 

I'd trade you YOUR gas mileage for mine ANY DAY of the week. Otherwise no comment from the RX-8 guy.

 

On my 99 RS last time I checked with mixed freeway / street driving I got a little over 300 miles on a tank with the gas light on.

 

BTW Aaron just take your BOV off and go stock, should help a bit.

That seems a little low. But like someone said above, once the car breaks in a little more, you should get better milage. I drove to Santa Maria (35 mins past San Luis) with my fat friend and the a/c on and off. I got 26 mpg, which is around 330 miles. But that is all freeway. Around town, I get 240ish.

 

when i first got my car and was breaking it in i got 280 miles on full tank now i get 200 full tank mostly local driving.

 

i get 230-270 miles per tank on my L (its only a 10 gallon tank)

 

90-100 miles for a half tank seems extremely low. When I set my cruise for 80 I will get about 200 miles on a half tank. On average I seem to get around 25 mpg. The best I have seen is 28mpg but that was because my mom was riding along so my normal cruising speed of 80 was reduced to 70-75. The lowest I have seen is 12 mpg but that was shortly after my car was broken in and I went out drifting in the snow for a while. Now with 11,000 miles on the car even when I go autoxing or take the car on a few laps of the track I work at my mileage hasnt dropped below 18mpg.

 

i just did a drive from bay area to la and to las vegas and i hit 210miles at half a tank....took it down to about a 1/4 tank and i was at 330 miles...for entire trip i averaged about 25mpg...not bad i guess and this is with catless exhaust and bov, while averaging a speed of 80-100 on way down
