Are fmic legal?(sorry if its a repost)
I see alot of cars that have a front mount intercooler...I wanted to know if it was legal because ive been getting pulled over alot lately just because i own a subaru with a catback on it...I really want to go front mount but i dont know if its legal...

My father in law, (who's a retired EE Engineer) is a smog check guru.
He tells me that the following items are legal:
1. Turbo intake hose if it has all the fittings.
2. Larger TMIC.
3. FMIC.
4. Silicone hoses; turbo outlet/y pipe, I/C to throttle, recirc valve,.
A lot of smog places will fail a car if these parts are installed because they don't want to liable for not knowing the regs.
Instead of keeping up & actually being knowledgable, they play stupid & fail you.
I've had several customers get their hoods popped & written for SAMCO hoses because the cops are ignorant. However, when they go before the judge to argue their case, they win, because they have taken the time to look up the regulations.
