Is this the first confirmed image of the new WRC car?
Yeah, these pictures were part of a press release announcing the official unveiling next month at the Frankfurt autoshow.
They are obviously renders, but since they are official I'd assume the actual WRC car will look exactly like it.

It actually looks a lot more like a Citroen, but only WRC fans would be able to spot that. I don't see a problem with a car that looks like a Mazda 3 hatch, that's a handsome little sport compact that is much neglected. I've driven the turbo version of that car, and it rips it up pretty well for FWD.

i am a wrc fan. the problem with it looking like a mazada 3 hatch, is that they are cheap, crappy cars. and then when they make our sti's start looking cheap as hell and doesnt have the bold look that everyone loves. sales will drop to a all time low for it in 2008 as they did in 2002, when they released the bug eyed version (every where but the US), so ill have to stick with the 2004-2007's. really hope they fix it cause it is UGLY AS HELL!! HUGE JUMP BACKWARD!! all i can say for now is ZOOM ZOOM!!!
