Just wondering to whoever owns the 04 wrx as to how it runs? are you guys experiencing any problems or is this beast flawless? thanks for any input.
i got a 04 wrx. so far i have no problems (knocking on wood). But then again i only have 840 miles on the car so...ill let you know later. But in the beguining i had some problems. The reverse gear would engage perfectly all the time, but now it does i guess i just had to break it in some. And now i can finally hear the turbo spool.
I drive an 04 wrx too and have about 6100 miles on it hehehehehe. The break in period too me 1 week to reach and its been one hell of a fun ride. I just installed my Kartboy short shifter and bushings today. Man what a difference in shifting. The throw is alot shorter and way stiffer than stock. I also installed the GReddy Type-S BOV just for the pssst sound lol. I do have problems with shifting into reverse, but nothing too big. This is my first manual transmission car so I can't really compare it to anything else.

3500 mi. on my '04 WRX and it runs great! Soon to be even better when I put the turbo-back exhaust on it.
Only complaints: stock stereo is crap and the paint chips too easily. I have used touch-up three times already. Several coats of Zaino seems to be helping.

i have 1450 miles on it and so far so good nothing wrong, its beautiful and i love it and its driving great! riding the clutch is the key to spanking other racers. =)

My '04 wagon just turned 4000 last night and I haven't had the slightest problem. The only flaw I found was a panel gap issue at the front of the hood on the passenger side to the immediate inside of the headlight. The dealer managed to take care of it (nearly perfect now- I can live with it). It just keeps getting more fun!

Had my 04 since the beginning of april and just eclipsed 14000 km! I never run out of excuses to drive it. I have noticed an occasional rubbing sound from the rear suspension when backing out of my driveway. I also have issues with the factory electrical system - bad grounds I think - usually lights dim with bass but I can even see my interior lights fluctuate at idle. The grounding mod should clean it up. Deceleration in second gear is a bit noisy but what do you expect with AWD!
