I am pretty sure the window will work. You could call your local Subaru Dealer and they can confirm. I know all the doors from 02-07 are the same, exception being the 5th door (hatch) on the Wagons. That said I am sure they would be the same. Again a short call to the parts department will confirm that.
The Window is held on by two screws. You'll have to take off the door panel, disconnect all wires, and reconnect the window controls. Roll up the window slightly to access the two nuts, take them out, and roll up the window while making sure the window doesn't come off the bolt/studs. The window moves a lot so make sure it doesn't come off the bolts. Once up, you will need to pull the window from the studs and lift it out.
I highly recommend having two people.
Far as cleaning glass, you could use a shop vac and suck up any glass that is inside the door. I am not too sure how good that would work but worth a try.
Good luck!
