drifting/powersliding

Hey, all, I've lurked around the forums a bit and I've got an animation project I'd like to start some research on. I'm an old fashioned animator, pencil/paper style, and I want to animate a character driving rally style in the woods or on pavement what have you, I haven't decided on that yet, research and development of how I'm going to do all of this stuff without computer aids comes first.

Long story short, anyone know of where I can get drift videos of subies, rally included (tho I have a ton of them now) I'm specifically looking for videos of the driver of the car, specifically while gearing up and down and drifting. I've searched the internet a few dozen times over the last couple months but I haven't found any vids of drivers that show what's going on inside the car during some of these wild turns. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

swrt.com only has pictures, I'm going to need video from inside the car at this stage. I remember seeing some footage from the canadian rally series from inside the cars, but that doesn't air all that often. I'll have to check listings for that stuff, thanks for the leads all, anyone else got more?

I've got some initial D, but our rule is to never use a source that's abstracted... it's like making a copy of a copy, you'll get some degragation. If the artist who did those scenes left something out, then you'll be missing something, and you could leave something out for your own style, and it has the potential of being inaccurate.
Get it from life first, and then look at secondary sources.

btw, that lancer vid was almost exactly what I needed thanks

I'd like some dirt drifting, maybe I can catch some from the rally coverage on speed tonight.

Hopefully if all goes well and my shots can be planned out and done without too much headache, results from this project will be available in the next few months. I am afterall, drawing everything by hand

Going to do some custom work on the STI to make it easier for me to do some 500-1000 drawings of, might be going with a souped up WRX wagon if I can piece it all together. We'll see when I get to actually drawing it.

The car isn't my primary concern... it's like animating a character... it's the backgrounds that could be a problem as some of the shots I want would inolve drawing as many backgrounds as drawings of cars I'd need. Lots of work to be done, and maybe lots more reference will be needed

You can looks for Best Motoring vids, or if you have a Japanese video store nearby you can rent Video Option and Hot Version as well. Those three are excellent sources. I'd love to see your end-product Good luck!
