mmm tough ?

i look at it like this yes you can build up your wrx to do what you want

but when your comparing a highway cruising modded Z car to the more scrappy low end and mid range powered stock wrx ...is a little un-fair ....

my rex pulls 262hp and 262 Lb/ft torque at the wheels
approx 325 at the crank ....

some where there is posted my dyno results....

Over 100 I doubt many daily driver WRX's could even compete, even if they had 400hp... AWD, Aerodynamics and the fact that you have a 6-cylinder engine do kind of make it a problem hard to overcome...

well,

you might try and 'race' one on a set of twisty roads. I am sure that that will make the decision a little more clear.

Not sure if the Z will be able to handle a good set of twisties as compared to a WRX, but then again, I may be wrong.

Try it, it might just help sway your decision.

later,
i.

That is a tough one... But having driven high hp variants of both I can give you my perspective. Both can be made to handle with the best of them. Both can be high hp daily drivers, how much do you want to spend? The difference comes down to three things:
1) Drive train-Whats the weather like where you live?
2) Utility-Ever like to have more than one passenger?
3) What is the purpose of the car? Pleasure only, or commuter. If pleasure only, then you can keep the Z. Unless you've come to a point where you'd like something new.

KEEP THAT CAR!! When I was looking for a car, it was down to finding an old 300 or buying a new RS. I love my RS, but dear god... keep the Z!
