I went to school for some graphic design (although I'm not making any money doing it, heh) and I'm trying to stick with what I learned. The "logo" should be small in filesize and should also be able to be resized and used for anything. This includes business cards, decals, t-shirts and anything else where the club is being represented.
I think some of these ideas are really nice, but I would like to aim for a cleaner look for a forum-based site. The large pictures that include a car or whatever else are a bit much for a logo. So anyway, hopefully my rambling can help others out with thier logo ideas. Thanks for listening.

I really liked a lot of the logos but most of them aren't web site friendly or universal. I also like the http://www.boomspeed.com/ellinopedo/newindexnew.htm
suggested layout. But I really like the current site the way it is, simple and familiar.
That's why I really like FlaaB's idea. The web site is still simple and familiar but the new logo simply combined with the matching colored links (control panel, register, calender etc.) make it 50 times better.
Thats my 2 cents.

OK, here's a new revision. I took the WRX style logo, added the mold lines, detailed it a bit more, separated the hyphen from the i and the c, and changed the text in the bar at the bottom to pink.

BTW, Alex, I have full hi-res versions of the last few I have done as layered photoshop files as well as the original artwork for all my logos saved as an Illustrator file, so if one of mine is picked, I can supply you with the necessary materials to get merch made up.
EDIT: Wow, that file was way too big for a masthead logo! Let's try this at a smaller size and lower compression settings...
