well I can tell you what I paid for my 03...$23,100 out the door. that was before the 04's came out, so you can probably get an 04 for the same price or an 03 for even cheaper. there is a yellow 03 and white 03 at the dealership where I got mine and they've been sitting there for over a year now.
oh yeah options:
speaker upgrade
security upgrade
boost guage
5 spd (if you consider that an option)
I got it at Sierra in Monrovia, would I recomend them? no, cause they denied me some warranty work, but if you can get a good deal then go for it. If I were you I would print out prices from www.edmunds.com and www.carsdirect.com and take them with you.
I've heard if you go in with the wholesale price and work your way up from that it works out pretty well. There are a few sites that offer the wholesale price, but I cant remember off the top of my head.

anyways, the price you got ur WRX was wayyyyyy worth it.
$23,100 total?? i still cant believe my eyes, are u sure that wasnt including tax??

I got my Rex from Irvine Subaru. I bought an '04 WRX
Cash price:$24,000
Subtotal(after tax and license):$26,116.49
The options that I got was the rear spoiler and upgaded security system. Piece of advice:If the dealer tries to tell you that the cars automatically have at leats 8-10miles on them, don't believe them. I got my car with 4 miles on it still cocooned so I know no dipsh!t was doing a hard test drive in it.

I must have gotten that good of a deal cause 2 weeks later the 04's were on the lot. like I said they're still stuck with 2 03's. mine came without the spoiler (I prefer wingless) so that saved me $500.

'03. Bought in early July. Turbo Guage and spoiler. Upgraded stereo; the stereo I replaced...the stereo in these cars are CRAP. Don't get the upgraded stereo...in fact, don't buy theirs at all if you can get it that way. Have them dynomat the doors too...they VIBRATE...Anyway. Paid $23.300 before tax/license (CA tax/license...Yikes!). You should be able to pay about that for an '04. Maybe a few bills more....good luck! I love the car..
California dealers are tight on the price compared to other states...don't look at postings from other states or you will turn sea-foam green and puke on the interior.
Oh ya, replace the wheels/tires with some good handlers..I opted for 17'' Motegi FFg's in gunmetal and some Dunlops...made a HUGE difference in handling....save your tires and wheels though...you'll need them for inclement weather. The high performance tires are not made for cold weather.

Car Info: 02 WRX wagon=dead; rollin' in a Craptastic Camry!
Bought in March '01, out the door was ~27,500 which inlcuded:
premium sound/alarm
rear diff protector
short shift
rear bumper cover
rear mat
all weather floor mats
Leather interior
tax, license and "just because fees"
I'd think you could knock several hundred or maybe even a grand off that price now, as I got one from the first shipment.
