Using gas to cool the engine is common practice for Subaru aftermarket tuners.
10:1 a/f ratio is not considered rich but a norm.
I have in the past suggested WI as an alternative but just get some meaningless answers such as "water doesn't burn" etc.

The biggest argument tuners use against WI is that if you run out of water, the pump fails, or anything else happens to reduce the water entering the engine, it WILL cause bad things to happen. I've come around to accepting the possiblity that WI can allow leaner AF ratios safely, but I'll never run it because of the risk to the motor if it fails.

If the equipment is made in a way that it has all the safeguards, do you then agree that the WI injection technology is a viable alternative having to running 10:1 a/f ratio to stop the engine from blowing up?

Yep and they are right that water won't burn, but unfortunately the right premise hasn't resulted in the right conclusion - if you look at the make up of exhaust when running richer than 12.5:1 AFR you will notice that that excess gasoline isn't burning either. All of the oxygen was used up, but plenty of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide still left to burn. I guess they must feel it is better to use an expensive fluid that also isn't burning and doesn't cool nearly as well. But hey if there were any oxygen left it would burn - oh yeah it does burn at the tail pipe when it gets more oxygen ... I guess the flames out the rear adds to thrust.
As for system parts breaking - I advocate as much or more than anyone proper maintenance and monitoring - but have yet to experience a failure, though I have seen some very poor implementations. Yeah if the fuel system fails the car stops running, but when an injector clogs it keeps running and you can still go boom. Note that even with a WI failure the WRC cars can still run because their EMS is designed to work around the failure - albeit they don't run as fast they still run and don't blow them up. Again, maintenance and monitoring just like making sure any other part of a car's system is working. Any car that is being pushed will break if any of the system's aren't monitored or maintained.
But we do digress a little bit - that is an awesome synopsis of the Subaru WRC car.

Too lazy to read the article but it sounds interesting, and FYI, there are programs that will take scans of magazine pages and other documents and instead of making them pictures the program will convert it to a text file or a document file. I got something like that with my lexmark all in one, whatever characters on the page it cant read it will "guess" and highlight them in green.

You don't want an anti-lag system in a street car. Its usually only meant for race cars, because its built only to last for 10k-20k miles (or so) and takes the motor with it. Enough to finish a few races, but not really something you want on a daily driver.
