Those are miss-prints, just copy-pastes from last year. Looks like Subaru got lazy. The motor is most definatly different now, the same one as in the rest of the 05's.

However, it looks like the Foresters might not have changed in the intake manifold area... Ill have to check the 05's when I stop by the dealer this week.

does anyone know if the "sporty suspension" in the base model 2.5RS is actually a sportier suspension?

Or is it still the 2.5TS suspension that exists in the base model 2.5RS?

Car Info: 05 WRX Wagon (Crystal Gray)
All the 2.5L's in California and a few other states are 165 because of emissions and everywhere else their 168.

I've had a 2.5 wagon since July, and I love it. It's the same 2.5 for all NA suby's in 05. The only real difference in the engine is the throttle by wire. The difference between the TS and RS is the WRX suspension and wheels, sport seats, and “large single tip sport tailpipe.” The sport package is for the sedan only and gets body color side skirts and mirrors, Al pedals, the 6-disk stereo, STi foglight covers, and leather wrapped steering wheel and e-brake handle. The best part is the 05 interior, very very nice especially if you consider the price of the car. I was initially shopping for a new Legacy or WRX but couldn’t afford either. The dealer had the 2.5’s priced at 17,500, and I talked them down 1K from that. 05 WRX’s were at 24K with a new Legacy starting at 23K or so. Throw that price difference in with the extra 1000 dollars it would take to insure a WRX over an RS and the choice was easy.
I posted in the Blue forum, the RS-only blue is pretty cool....of course I'm biased now: about 3/4 down https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...t=69270&page=3

Or should I say that WRX/RS get the same suspension. STI and OBS have other setups obviously.

Legacy maybe, but the 2.5RS wagon and sedan are the 165. Like 3hp really matters though.

My brother has an 05 legacy with the 168, and it is perhaps a small amount quieter. But I actually prefer the harsh sound of my 04 TS.

Is the Impreza 05 RS more responsive than the 02s-04s? Or basically the same?

And has anyone test driven the Sport package RS And base RS to see if maybe those WRX seats give that extra 5-10hp?

There's one more big difference I forgot to mention between the WRX and RS. The RS doesn't get a limited slip rear.
