Do they use steel to build the roll cage and what guage? That would seem like a lot of weight being added.

yes, chrome-moly steel pretty much standard in cage construction, the weights not really an issue since WRC cars have a minimum weight of 2700 lbs so even in full race trim they are usually adding ballast to meet the minimum weight

I'd like to just get the seams welded on my car. Don't think I'd need a roll cage for an everyday driver but the seam welding is practical for street and track. Anyone from Vermont Motorsports in here? Also, how long does this process take?
