Angry '99 2.5L Outback with Fast Idle

I have a 1999 Outback and I'm getting a Check engine light and a p507 code on the scanner for too fast an idle. It runs 1500. Usually it would be caused by an air leak but I sprayed all the vacuum connections with carb cleaner and it did not change it. I pulled out the Idle Air Control valve and checked both sides and it is reading 9 ohms as called for. Is there any thing I missed or other ways I should check for air leaks of fast idel that I've missed ????
Thanks, Jim Jakosh jjakosh@netscape,com

The idle control valve may be gummed up inside and in need of a cleaning.

I took off the top and check the resistance. I did not know you could clean it. How do you do it? How des that part with the shaft sticking up come out to clean it?
Thanks, Jim

you can also send direct to jjakosh@netscape.com. Any help will be appreicated. Our local shop said it has to be changed and they are ordering one . If I could clean it, it would save me some serious $$.
