2006 Subaru Impreza facelift
I just went to the Canadian International Autoshow today and spoke to one of Subaru Canada's managers. Apparently, the new facelifted Impreza will arrive in North America in August. I repeat, it's a "facelift" NOT a complete redesign! This will be the SECOND time Subaru has facelifted its current Impreza platform. Talk about recycling! A completely redesigned Impreza will not arrive for another 2 years.
But this is not a surprise. I had suspected Subaru would give the Impreza a second facelift since it just gave the current Forester platform a second facelift. (The new facelifted Forester was just released in Japan and will arrive in North America in the summer). Subaru sure loves to recycle! But since this is just a facelift, they will not do something overly radical, so I'm sure the facelifted Impreza will appeal to many people.

hmm, sounds intresting. If By "facelift" you mean how they switched from the "Bug Eyes" to there current look, then hopefully all will be well. Meaning it was a minor change but a strong one just the same. I really like the new forester's look, though I really cant pull any things from it to the STI's front in my mind though. The change to the forester was very subtle, mainly the headlights and grill area.
But like it has been said, needs pictures... TTIWWOP <---- I had to search to find out what that ment. Man im lame..lol

You know, just because its called a facelift, doesnt mean they wont still make the impreza that lookedl ike the ones from the magazine. I didnt see too many differences in the new impreza besides the lights and grille, and for the new age imprezas...they changed the hood and lights, which wasnt that big, but big enough for a lot of people to change their minds, i hope to god they wont use the ugly grill, but you never know, and i hope what ur saying is right...because if its not..they'll ruin the impreza for me. but thanks for the tip and comforting words, hope it holds true!
btw, mitsubushi learned their lesson, i think i saw a video of the Evo 9 on nurburring...however u spell that race track in germany...and they took out the triangle on the grill...too bad subaru will have to learn the hard way...well hopefully not.

Fortunately for me, I'm a very open-minded person. I like all the new Impreza sketches I've seen. I like it with the old grille, and I like it with the new grille. So I'll be happy with whatever Subaru comes out with.
Will the new facelifted Impreza have the new grille?

That's possible. The Subaru B9 Tribeca was a poor use of the new grille, but I think Subaru designers may have better luck applying it to the Impreza.

Okay, the Impreza will definitely have a facelift. I asked the Subaru manager twice! Besides, if u can't handle a little facelift, how can u handle the completely redesigned Impreza that will arrive in another two years?
And a facelift is definately needed to make the Impreza's front more aerodynamic. Right now, the new Legacy is more aerodynamic than the Impreza and uses less gas. Ouch!

Okay, I have seen several possible sketches of the upcoming facelifted Impreza. I've attached the two sketches that I think might resemble this Impreza. Both pics feature a facelifted front with Legacy-like headlights and the new grille. However, the rest of the body is relatively the same, making them reasonable facelift sketches.
