I got mine (04 sedan java) well below MSRP, but still ~500 over invoice. I did get the premium package (sunroof, heated seats/mirrors/windshield wipers), fancier speaker setup, turbo guage, and wing.
I know all these amenities are a little against the wrx spartan motif, but I sort of look at my ride as a poor mans audi s4. Great performance, with some nice creature comforts for fun just cruising around! E.

WRXs are selling at or below invoice on the West Coast at dealers that are good about pricing. I think the financing may be about to disappear though.

Mine, without "performance package" but with premium package(sunroof, heated seats/mirrors/windshield), boost guage, and upgraded speakers and sub was 25,500 OTD. Invoice was just about 25K, MSRP was more like 27.3K. This is in New Hampshire, BTW. Best, Eric.

Guys,
I am new to the board so thanks for all the advice.
When discussing pricing, we should probably quote "pre-tax" pricing because the tax rate varies in every state. To find invoice and MSRP pricing for the car as well as options you can go to www.kbb.com or most of the major car sites.
I just got an offer on an '04 WRX for $500 over invoice which I thought was pretty good. Options shouldn't matter because you should pay invoice or just over invoice for each option you want.
Has anyone paid invoice or even under invoice for these cars?
Thanks,
Dan

$700 over invoice
I bought a 2004 WRX on Long Island (Brown's Subaru in Patchogue - ask for Kathy and use my name please - Scott Mandia) for $700 above invoice. I have the Premium Package, Arm-Rest Extender, and Auto-Dimming mirror.
They gave me 4.5% APR financing through CHASE but my FICO Credit Score is 755 which is very high (very good.)
The 0% is for the 03's which nobody seems to have around here.
