Kinda random, but the catalytic converter went out on my 2000 Impreza and I'm looking for a replacement pipe but I'm having trouble finding the "California" ones. What I was thinking about doing is getting a non "California" one and installing it anyways? Are the ones that aren't from CA the same? What's the biggest difference between them? Do they have the same OB2 readers, hangers and exhaust placement? Since they no longer sniff 2000+ it shouldn't make a difference as long as it clears the code right? Am I making sense? If you have any insight, please reply below!

TLDR; looking for catalytic converter for 2000 Impreza 2.2L

 

You dont have sniffer, but they still do visual inspection. I cant comment if they are looking for a visible CARB number or whatever else, so not sure if non-CA would pass visual or not.
