08 WRX's on the road
I'm seeing bits of 08 WRX's on the road. I saw the white one the other day and they really do look better in person than that crappy magazine shots.
I still love my blob though...

Yah know who's buying 'em? 40 - 60 year olds, who want a smooth ride and a quick (not fast) car that's hip without looking boy racer ~
A new market segment for Subaru fo' sure!

You are wrong about them not being fast. The 0-60 times and slalom times are identical to the 04-05-06 WRX models, and the new suspension design should make them a bit faster in the hands of an experienced driver (stock vs. stock).

And they are softer then my ex's a**.
But, throw some coilovers on it and that is moot point, right?
I thought you were implying that they were slower than the previous 2.5l WRX generations, which is most definitely not true. I also think the interpretation of the new suspension (which is VERY different than before) is incorrect. Sport Compact Car has an excellent writeup on the suspension system and geometry, and they said that most of the aftermarket changes people were making to the WRX (endlinks, stiffer sway bar, upgraded bushings, camber lock bolts) are actually designed right into the suspension now, making for much better adjustability, travel and traction.
I have to agree that the '08 Impreza and WRX look MUCH better in person than pix. Local dealer has a red WRX that's really sharp. The upgrades to the interior are nice too. But the hood scoop seems a little big - too wide, maybe.
Especially considering how tiny the intercooler is!

We just bought an Acura RDX (which kicks the crap out of the Tribecca in so many ways I can't even name them here) and it has a really interesting solution to the giant hood scoop look. The entire hood is the hood scoop. There is a wide opening just behind the front grille (black on black, so it is invisible) and air channels that duct up under the hood to the intercooler. After the air passes over the intercooler, it then ducts out two vents on the back of the hood near the windshield. I bet a pretty good vacuum builds up on the trailing edge of the hood while driving, pulling air under the hood. Overall it is a pretty nice solution without having a giant snorkel-hole on the front of the car.
