~Hood scoop~fun question~

Here is a good one (I think).

What is the weirdest thing you ever found in your hood scoop?

For example: a dead chipmunk, crayon, a quarter, etc.

~8^ ) Also.....

I hope everyone has a safe and joyous T day.

Nothing but the usual small insects and pebbles. I use a screen at the scoop opening.

I ordered the screen from Fastline Motorsports. Here's another screen I just found on eBay but can't vouch for the quality. Egan's installation page. Painstaking trimming with snips is required with the Fastline screen I installed.

I think it's possible to fashion a screen for less money if you can find a suitable screening material at a Home Depot or Lowe's and if you make a template out of cardboard or card stock. I painted my screen a gloss black and used black nylon ties to secure it to the STi hood scoop I installed on my car. I did not drill the supports as Egan did.

I use a simple diverter (splitter) that installs within the WRX intercooler seal. The price today is even cheaper than when I ordered a year ago. Some observations by the fellow who makes these diverters.

"Oh, well. He's dead", I remember telling my son as I came to a stop sign.
As I come to a full stop, the damn little finch flew out with full afterburners lit!

I have the Egan screen on my stock scoop, he gave it to me after he got his STi scoop. Over 20k miles and that thing was perfect. It really worked well.
