I can't agree with you on colour. I like Black but it doesn't show off the lines of the car very well at all. Black hides everything and it just seems "flat" to me. Blue is too outlandish and screams "look at me" While SILVER is the choice for me. With a huge spoiler and hoodscoop, silver tones it down a bit and adds just a touch of class.
If the black is anything like the black color sample I got with my 2004 Impreza brochure, it will be too brown. In high light condition (day light) you could see how brown it really was even with just the 1" square. It could be that it is sitting against a very white background. I prefer a more blue black. I'm not a big fan of black anyways.

I would love to have on in black. I love black cars, but they are oly black for a few minutes after you wash it. Black cars show dirt worse than white cars. ....and don't let there be a scratch
It can be seen from across the lot. Let us not forget that it is a US WRX, which means the paint will likely horrible quality just like the 2002's and 2003's.
As far as the black looking brown, I have to agree if it is the same paint that is on the 2003 Baja. The gold flake in the paint gives off a brown hue.

I'm getting a Whiite wagon
At first i wanted a Silver 1 but then i always see ppl with silver wagons and i currently have a silver HB. I thought Blue but there everywhere too. I thought Black but it only looks good when washed then 24 hours later is dirty again
I never thought of the Red but i have only seen about 3 Red WRX's in the past 2 years and 2 were at the Dealership
White Wagon i have never seen around here (MD) and i only saw a White sedan in the Showroom.

It's all certainly a matter of pesonal preference (and I'm not criticizing peoples' choice here), but certain cars definitely suit certain colours.............black looks great on Bimmers....in my mind black is the "worst" colour for the Sti in comparison to blue, white and silver.

As I laugh in my own insanity.
