I've done a search on the forums and have found nothing about seat covers. I will need full seat covers for the days I come home from work filthy with a bunch of other filthy men in the back seat. Then I take the seat covers off when I drive clean. Does subaru sell any?

martiandl is correct, you don't want to be adding seat covers due to the side airbags.

Here's an idea though...save the Mustang for carpooling to work with dirty men(s). Then reserve the STi for the days in between.

Janq, I can't keep the mustang. Nowhere to put it and no real use for it. I live right downtown in major Toronto. Most people who live downtown don't even own cars. I have one underground space for one car. Mustang would have to sit on the street. Not to mention I don't need two sports cars!

 

The side airbags need to have zero restriction in order to expand out of the sides of each front seat. Putting covers on the seats would deny them the ability to expand properly/completely putting yourself and/or your front passenger at risk of harm during a side impact collision.

As for the 'Stang,...dang.
We just can't figure out a way to help you with that thing!

Is this for all cars with side airbags or just this car? Is this in the manual?

I have the first guy looking at the Stang tomorrow. I hope he buys because I'm going to give him one hell of a great deal. If he doesn't take the bait then unfortunately the stang goes to the dealer this wednesday morning for Trade in and I drive away in the Sti. I'll take a bath on the trade, but at this point I don't care anymore and I'll be satisfied with the decision.

From there it goes to get paint and rust protection, undercoating, maybe tinted windows. Then after the weekend it goes to get a new audio system put it. Wow, the cash I'll be laying out is huge!

Anyone want to buy a stock STi 6CD changer and speakers? This is a Canadian Sti

 

All cars good buddy...all cars with side airbags mounted in the seats.

As for the 'Stang, you definitely will be happy about your decision...I can assure you of that.

Well, Jesus H... Gosh darn it, I am a noobie! I never thought about it but I didn't realize the airbags were mounted in the seats. I thought they were mounted in the doors.

 

Some manufacturers stillmount in the doors (old tech) but the majority are mounted in the seat itself.

Its much safer for the driver/passenger for the bags to be mounted in the seat.

Actually, Many companies are now making seat covers with a small flap or opening to allow for side air bags to go off properly.

I'm not sure if any are available for the STi yet but there were
quite a few for the 02-03 WRX seats.
