essogas,
i'm completely echo what you've said. i too got into rally while playing GT3 with my brother. now i'm got an STi and am living the dream! i can't wait GT4 comes out this fall. it will the best game ever made. they have a rally stage that is in the grand canyon! the GT team went out there, took digit shots for a whole week and integrated it into the rally stage. they also have a NYC stage as well. it's gonna be soooo awesome to play the car in STi in GT4, the same car you have sittin in your garage! woooohoooo! also, there is internet linked play for this game as well and a game wheel that is made specifically fot GT4 which is the first manual trans wheel out there. ok.. i'm a freak.. i've gotta get out some more and do some really driving.

Check your alignment! Mine was out and needed adjustment. The car pulled to the left and so do most of them. I won't be surprised if it's the same with your car. ALL STis from my dealership needed alignment adjustment.

It doesn't pull under acceleration only coasting and it's only to the left. Be sure If you run the test on an even level road with three lanes be sure to be in the centre lane because the left most lane is always slanted down to the left for water drainage and any car will pull to the left.
So just get on a flat road and take your hands off the wheel and see if it wanders left. Mine wandered left immediately and was pretty severe. I would always have to have my hand on the wheel and hold it a bit to the right to compensate. This was bad.
There is also a line or small crack on your steering wheel running vertically in the 6' o' clock position. Look for it and when driving perfectly straight it should be exactly in the 6 o'clock position. Mine was out at around 7 o'clock. Once I got readjusted it's now lined up in the 6o'clocl position when travelling in a straight line. All in all the car still pulls to the left a little bit but I think It's the nature of the car because I watched the guy realign the car and the computer indicated everything was good. Just make sure it's not to bad and tyou can tell this by #1 if you don't have to always hold the whhel to the right to compensate and #2 if that little crack is in 6' oclock position.

It's true. Even the people at PRODRIVE told me this. Also, almost every other Sti that was sold at my dealership needed adjustment.

I wasn't questioning what you said. I am just bother by the fact. Like I said, I never heard of any brand new car that is not aligned from the factory
(I am sure it happened before, I just don't know about it).Oh well, I guess you just deal with it

At least you guys will be able to get your STi in GT4. Question is, are they going to give you guys the 2.5l car or the 2.0l car.
What? The alignment was screwed on the Stis coming from the factory??? They usually do alignments on the car before ship after they put the car together right? Usually the alignment device is setup so that the techs only need to adjust one thing quickly and its done. Something must've not been set properly.

That is a good question. It would be interesting to see what they would do. It would be amazing if they get that detail correct.

essogas,
i had a similar problem with alignment. when my wheel was at 6 on a flat road the car drifted to the left. it was annoying as hell and was much more pronounced at high speed. i took in in and the dealer said that one of my rear tires were camberd inwards a little too much. so my issue wasn't steering alignment, it was an issue with tire angle. it was definitely frustrating. anyway, that was my experience.

My alignment was "way off" according to a friend. Three different people at the shop asked why I wanted a alignment on a new car. I replied that I had read about instances of this car coming with a bad alignment. They were all surprised that a new car was so far out of alignment.

Ya I admit it, I've wanted an STI since GT 1. I'm an old time GT fan. Now I have the STI and I'm stoked I have my dream car. The cool thing about GT 3 was that I used it to see how certain wheels looked on my 03 WRX before I bought some. I've seen the preview for GT 4 and it looks really good. Guess I'm going to have to bust out the PS2 again and clean the dust off of it.
As for my STI, no ping but running on 92. I will finish breaking it in this week then switch to synthetic Royal Purple 5W30. Has anyone found any aftermarket oil filters for the STI? As far as I know the only one right now is the AA0080 and it's a dealer part.

I've been playin SEGA GT2003 for six months now and it is still awesome to pilot the STi or a Skyline or old Renault around the twisties. (the STi is still my fav, acutally has the most enjoyable handling of all the cars) they even give you a 22B when you win certain races. and i hear the game's next version will be compatible with XBOX Live, so all us I-clubbers can get it on STi-style and go beat up on the rest of the world.
Does anybody recommend any other car games for XBOX? I've played a couple rallye games, but they didn't do much for me. And how 'bout a steering wheel? which one does everybody have? I've even read that the microsoft one gives steering feedback. but i haven't tried any of them yet.
happy motoring!
