Test drove an Evo
I went to my local mitsu dealer and they let me test drive the EVO. I must say the car is very impressive. Hit 100 on the highway under the order of my salesman. I must say the sunroof and the 160 watt radio are nice to have. Still want the STi but the drive was fun.
Another note. I asked to speak with the service manager, he told me I could replace the exhaust fron the cat back and the only thing I would lose would be the warranty on the portion I replaced. (on the mitsu)

IE, you change you, you brake it, you pay for it.
This keeps things from, as in your example, someone changing the exhaust and then the engine dropping a tranny and you not being covered which would be wrong.
However, that said, the ease by which you get your car warrantied will depend on the attitude of the regional rep for your area. If you have a stickler be prepared to fight and travel if need be to an area covered by a better rep.

I GOT TO TAKE A EVO OUT TODAY, IT FEELS REALLY SOLID AND PROB A GREAT CAR. IT IS KINDA CHEAP THOUGH, QUALITY NOT PRICE. THE SALESMAN WAS REALLY HARD ON IT AND BASICALLY SAID I COULD DO THE SAME. SO I DID OF COURSE I KNEW I WASNT GUNNA BUY IT. WE CAME DOWN A MOUNTIAN ROAD AND IT HAIRPINNED AT THE BOTTOM. HE TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CORNER AS FAST AS I FELT COMFORTABLE. 50 MPH WAS A FAIR SPEED. I SCARED THE BEJESUS OUT OF HIM, HALF WAY THOUGH THE CORNER HE GRABBED THE WHEEL CAUSE HE WAS SLIDING IN THE SEAT. I WAS LIKE THATS A GREAT IDEA WHILE CORNERING.

I went to the mitsubishi dealer about a week ago and checked out the EVO's. Once I sat in it, I wanted one so bad. I had to hold myself back though, because I knew I will be more happy with an Impreza. I asked the dealer if I could test drive one and he told me no because too many people ask, and it's obvious they just want to test drive. What the hell is this ****?! I don't know one person that has ever bought a new car without test driving it. Oh well, I'm not getting one anyway. It will be a better feeling anyway when I'm spanking one in my new Impreza!
