i understand what it is about...performance and such....but the interior is much nicer than the stock wrx...if they wanted to go for strictly racing....it should look more like the Evo...and the steering wheel may be easier to race with...but still....they could ahve made it nicer. and the shifter seems like it has really long throws...which for racing....i think is much worse than short throws....agree?

I believe it's a Momo but I could be wrong, but a special STi version and with STi badging instead of Momo.
Also, short throws have nothing to do with height of the shift handle. Often it is confused since aftermarket short-throw shifters make the handle shorter. The STi shifter is supposed to be shorter throw than the WRX but from what I remember when sitting in it, it's not extremely short like some aftermarket ones.

Its just a matter of opinion on interior looks. IMO, the EVO don't look any better than the STi. The STi transmission is pretty nice and it does have short throw. You don't necessarily need a short shift rod to achieve short throws, the transmission internal design plays a role also.

we should be complaining...ITS 30k!!!! not to mention the evo is a good alternative...maybe better alternative. one of the main plus' to the STi is that its interior is higher quality than the Evo...i also know about the short throw thing and thats why i was asking about the shifter. but the steering wheel i don't think is Momo. i have been reading alot about the cars...and that was one of the downfalls of the STi even though the evo's main downfall was all its interior being cheap and of course more turbo lag than the STi. read motor trends comparison. the times are way off but the other things are accurate...well as accurate as opinions can get.
You are saying the steering wheel is the downfall of the STi? So another words, you are basing your decision on a MOMO steering wheel and a short shifter? You could always paint "MOMO" smack dack in da center of de steerin wheal and hack da shifter!

Am I wrong here? Just do us a favor and wait until you can see an STi and sit in it before you go trying to rip it apart.

Oh, and 30K is nothing to pay for this level of performance

alright alright, i jsut figured if the WRX had it then the STi should also, since its a step up. i am not deciding if i like the STi or not based on the steering wheel i am just saying, thats something idon't like about it and something i really like about the WRX.

Do you really care what brand the steering wheel is? I bet you, even if it's not made by momo, by STi wheel is better and you will find it so after trying it out. If you just want to be able to tell your friends "I have a momo wheel!" then just buy one. Otherwise, I wouldn't freak out about it until you try it.
Further, the shifter is definately a step up.
Oh yeah... and so is the engine, wheels, tires, brakes, drivetrain, suspension, ...

I can't believe this. We finally get an STi in the states and people are complaining about little stuff.
