STI Stereo related question

So if there is no stereo stock, what size speakers does the mounts hold and do you think there will still be the wiring harness

stereo question

If there is no radio stock there still will be a harness incase someone wants the radio as an opion. the speakes i'm guessing will be the same size. i think they are 4" or 5"...

does anyone else have anymore information about the stereo or lack there of?? If there definitely is a wiring harness for a custom deck AND wiring throughout the car for speakers, I am fine with that! as long as you don't have to wire the entire car yourself, that would be a pain in the ***...any thoughts?

I am sure there's gonna be wires, cause there's always factory option CD player and speaker gonna be available, so dealers can rip us off more.

The dealer that we are buying the Outback VDC Wagon from said that it will be wired.. (Which means I'l be installing my own stuff)

Also said that they were promised to have them in april...

I could have shot the guy though when he started talkin about how its 0-60 is under 5 seconds, 300 hp & TQ..My dad was like thats all you need you already drive to fast..

lol, same thing here when I first bought my MY00 RS. before we went to the dealer, I told my parent how safe it is, and not much teen ager have it because it's not sporty at all, and all the other BS that I made up, just try to convince them to buy the RS instead of an Accord(great car, but not quiet the time for that)....lol. but the sale almost ruined my dream by telling us how fast it is, how good the cornering is, blah blah blah. yeah, believe me, I feel you there....I almost shot the sales too.

Aren’t the Impreza speakers 6 1/2 inches in the front and rear?

And if you do plan on installing an aftermarket stereo system, where you gonna mount the antenna?

The Civic Si (also on VW's) looking antenna’s would look great on the STi.

The only factory wires I use anyway are, remote, ground, power, and antenna. I just hope it at least has an antenna. The other wires I can find substitutes for. I always run better speaker wires from the amps. This all may sukk to some, but I kinda like doing it (on my own car). The toughest part is getting the wires into the doors, especially the rear ones.

Well I don't want to have to run wires at first..

I don't plan on installing a major system for a while.. Performance mods is where the money will go first.. Can we say Catless up pipe

I hear you on that one. From the under-car picks I've seen of teh JDM STi, the header configuration is different than the 2003 USDM WRX. I don't know how the US STi will be. Unless the current uppipes will fit, you may be waiting a while before one is available. I hope the aftermarket guys make the flanges thicker this go-round.

The car will be pre-wired, and assumin the speaker sizes are the same as a wrx, they will be 6-1/2 in the front door, and 4 in the back. I must note that the speaker cavity (depth wise) is very shallow. Had a difficult finding high quality speaker to fit in the front doors, becasue the magents where to large. Also noted in the pics of the sti, that it doesnt have the place for the tweeter?

The car will be prewired. As far as the speaker size' go, if the back is 4" its useless, thats why i didnt even bother upgrading the rears, and just slapped on a set of MB Quart 6x9" in the rear deck (barely fit, lol). I dont see the sizes/depths being too different.
