is it a misprint? i just read the new super street april '03 and they tested the new sti. it ran a 14.0 in the 1/4 .thats what i can expect for 32k??300hp and 14.0? 227hp 14.2 for my o2 wrx.
or are they just being modest. and will it have tamper seals on the engine like the mp3 turbo.so moding will be at your own risk. no scamming the dealer..

 

I don't think that was a US spec 2.5l STi. So far there are none of them available for road testing to the best of my knowledge. I'd bet it was a UK spec 276hp 2.0l.

Sorry n2o that mag isn't the most credible. You are correct the 2.5l STi will NOT run in the 14s, it will be much faster!

It will probably be a couple months before true tests are performed, look at the EVO four weeks before release a couple articles finally came out. I expect the same from Subaru.

even then the only true EVO test came from Road and Track...nobody else got to really test it...everyone else got to drive it in Thailland but not do tests....

I read somewhere that the STi was clocked at 13.2.

 

I heard that the STi did 0-60 in "four and a half seconds" from the reps at a car show, but these are all just rumors until a true test is performed. I just hope the test numbers are close to the rumors!!
