Sti price "range" announced at ny autoshow
Went to the show today and saw the STi. I will post pictures soon.
Bad news!!! The price going around on the internet is NOT CORRECT! The officials at the show said in their presentation and later after many inquiries by me and others that the price will be between 32,000.00 and 34,000.00. Numbers are not firm yet but it will DEFINITELY be in this range. Price will be anounced week of May 19th.
I know people are going to try and fight me on this but I am convinced that this is correct. They were adament on this subject, and I would even say the conversations got a little heated at times. The 30,995.00 number is not correct.
Also, I thought I read someware that someone thought that there was going to be directional lamps like on the EVO. This is also not true. Everything else is there that we knew about and the car looks awesome.

People on NASIOC are saying they have seent he relaese from Subaru about the price.
I don't doubt what you are saying, but a lot of people at Subaru don't even know the price of the 04 WRX right now, yet they are on lots and being sold.
I think the fact is, we won't know what we're gonna pay til we're there signing the paperwork.

Region rep was at my dealership friday afternoon. First thing saturday morning when "my" salesman came in (Doesn't work fridays) he was handed the info and called me to share, $30,995 + destination. I would find it hard to believe that the Regional sales rep was handing out false information.

This has already been posted somewhere. This is a e-copy of an internal memo available at Subaru's internal sales web site. I got it from a dealer. I asked him about the pricing rumor of 30,995 for MSRP. He replied with this memo.

Next month, Subaru of America will launch the next level of our Driving Performance initiative with the introduction of the 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
The Subaru Impreza WRX STi draws motorsports technology directly from our expertise in the World Rally Championship (WRC) competition, and is designed to appeal to the serious driving enthusiast. Featured at the North American International Auto show in Detroit in January of this year, the Impreza WRX STi will serve as the performance flagship of the Subaru line. It will be the most powerful Subaru ever offered for sale in North America.
The Subaru Impreza WRX STi builds on the performance and styling success of the
award winning Impreza WRX models that were an overnight success in the U.S. market. STI stands for Subaru Tecnica International, the high performance and motorsports subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. The Subaru Impreza WRX STi is powered by an intercooled and turbocharged 2.5 liter DOHC boxer engine with Active Valve Control System (AVCS), variable valve timing, and an intercooler manual control water spray system delivering 300 horsepower at 6000 RPM and 300 lb-ft. peak torque at 4000 RPM. The Impreza WRX STi comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and our most integrated Full-Time All Wheel Drive system with a Driver Control Center Differential (DCCD), and a high performance inverted strut sport tuned suspension to provide the ultimate combination of power and handling.
The Subaru Impreza WRX STi also features the latest in performance safety engineering – as standard equipment. High intensity discharge (HID) headlights provide increased forward visibility, while heavy duty Brembo® four wheel disc brakes, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Super Sport ABS and 17-inch BBS® wheels provide superior braking stability. Additional standard safety features include front seat head/chest side impact air bags, dual front airbags, and three-point seatbelts for all seating positions. All 2004 Impreza models are equipped with a safety brake pedal system that is designed to yield during a serious frontal impact in order to help reduce injury to the driver’s lower limbs.
We are very pleased to announce the MSRP for the Subaru Impreza WRX STi will be $30,995. The vehicle will come with a choice of rally inspired gold painted wheels (DG 4JI) or silver painted wheels (HG 4JJ). 2004 Impreza line-up pricing and specifications reflecting the new Impreza WRX STi will be posted on Subarunet.com, in the Business/ Vehicles/ Vehicle Pricing Information section.
We look to the all-new Impreza WRX STi to further add to an already record setting sales performance in 2003, and further establish the Subaru brand as the leader in AWD performance.
Good Selling!
I also recieved this from the dealer I'm buying from this morning. Number one on the list and out the door at $34,214.
Here's the out-the-door price for the STi:
MSRP: $31,545.00
Doc fee: 45.00
Sales tax: 2,369.25
DMV: 236.00
County fee: 14.00
State tire fee: 5.00
Total: $34,214.25
Indications are we'll be getting three STi's in our initial allocation, but I still don't know what the colors will be. All three cars are pre-sold,
