sti motor change over into 02 wrx
im trying to find out how much it would cost to put a complete sti version 7 motor in my 02 wrx. i want it to be complete with rear differenshail and everything i need it for it to run. if someone could atleast give me a qoute on the motor that would be cool. all i want to do to the motor is full exaust with an upipe and headers and a front mount. do u think itll run really good with those parts. i have the money to do it but i need to get the motor and have someone do the work. if theres no crazy re wiring ill just put it in myself, but i need to know what it takes to put that motor in my 02 wrx......let me know somebody what u think!!!!!
If you have the money, it might make more sense to buy the STi and save yourself alot of time and hassle. I'm sure a transplant is quite possible, but will cost $$$, time, and possibly custom fabrication. I don't foresee it a direct bolt on swap since the entire drivetrain, engine and suspension are completely redesigned for the USDM STi. Something else to think about; are you able to purchase a USDM STi engine and drivetrain? I know you can get the STi 6 speed, but the engine might be hard to obtain. Sounds like you have alot of homework to do!
