Sti Fuel?
What type of fuel would we all need to use on the Sti? I'm guessing Super Unleaded. Is it different for the 2.5l motor?
Also, not like anybody cares (except me) but I was curious what the fuel economy of the car is. I'm guessing 20/27. They quoted on cars.com that the Mitsu spokesdudes at the LA Auto Show were saying that the EVO gets 18/26.
Any thoughts?

I think on one of the spec sheets I have seen a recommendation for 92 octane fuel...so super it is.
As far as gas mileage goes, I would think your numbers are close to correct.

I think if this is possible, then it is cheaper this way since gas prices in Cali are skyrocketing.

Samurai I would definatly suggest using the highest octane gasoline available. I know cali only gets 91 and even that isn't that great from what I have heard. I wouldn't use a lower octane and just buy octane booster all the time, they really don't work that great IMO, certainly not as good as race fuels.. Your STI will have better performance as well with the better octane gas which should reduce the occurance of knock and allow the ECU to advance the timing instead of always retarding it when using 89octane etc.
Luckily here in NY I have access to 94octane Sunoco, and 100octane Sunoco at the pump close to my house.

Hehe, I know I know.. I'm not sure of the prices in California but Sunoco Ultra 94 is usually around $1.90-95 here, and the 100octane, is $4.80gal at one place, and $5.90gal at another(of course the one closer to where I live!) so it is expensive! Usually I mix about three gallons of the 100, with 5gal. of 94 and it comes out to like 96.5. If I go to the track I usually just buy it there since it's cheaper, but I don't always race at the track.

edit: Back on the topic of octane boosters, there was an post in FFI where someone posted some FAQs about octane boosters and one thing that suprised me was that when you buy one that says it increases the octane effect "By up to 7 points" I always though that meant it would go from 90->97, when really it means that it goes from 90->90.7 IIRC. So you would need alot of the booster stuff to bring the octane up an significant amount.
