STI color issues.....

Let's for a second set aside the color option issue,.........I am so glad to see SOA has finally smelled the coffee and is getting "us" the people who matter, involved in this process. I was working at a Subaru dealer when the RS was introduced and people liked it but felt they (SOA) could have done somethings differently. My order was faxed to SOA the day after the press release, I got confirmation back from SOA the next day( my girlfriend is my salesperson) I checked the " any" box for color, because if the STI comes in Spongebob Square pants yellow and pink, then I'll be a yellow and pink sti 300hp drivin' fool. I wanted a WRX in 1993 when alot of people were in middle school, so now that not only can we see a WRX everyday on I-95 , but you can actually get a STI in the states,........WHO CARES ABOUT THE COLOR,......

Show your true colors and dont worry about color,..I see people saying things like, "I dont like this, or I think this is too much, .."
those are'nt die-hard STI fans.

Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for all the non-Subaru people who bought the WRX in the last 2 years,..they are the ones that have made the STI able to come here, think about it,.................

COLOR DOESNT MATTER,..JUST CONTENT.

Well, if you are shelling out $35k then you might as well get what you want. I mean hell most would drive the damn thing if it was pink/yellow, but we would always WISH it wasnt. I personally wont get one if they cant order mine in Blue/Gold or Silver/Gunmetal. I dont like Black and White, well its just not right. Just my 2 cents worth...

Believe me, Im the most IMPATIENT guy in the world. I have wanted something in the past and buy something similar because what I want isnt available. Its going to be hard as hell waiting this amount of time, but its worth it! No question. The 350Z keeps calling my name and of course so does the dealer who I was dealiing with on it. The STi is so over anything out there, I just gotta hang on a bit longer. =)

YEs I was in the dealer on the internet during the press release, on that cold day in January !!! My girlfriend is a salesperson at Russell, i used to work there, and so yes I ordered mine. I cant talk prices, as you might expect. I will buy it when the the allocation sheets come in 1 week before the cars get there !!
So the color and options wont ,matter,..I will leave work and come there as fast as my 03 wrx will take me. Needless to say i hate the thought of waiting 3 months,....the only good news is, There may be a "ride and drive for sales people, it may be at Summit Point Raceway,..which is where I instruct, so there may be a chance ,.just a slim chance in hell,..that ,......you know,...............I ,.....may,........get,..........TO KEEP DREAMIN' ABOUT IT UNTIL JUNE.....!!!!

No,..in all seriousness, Subaru has done 3 out of 5 of the last " ride and drives in theis area, at Summit Point,.so its a good chance.

Hey John,

That's a bunch of bs...if you're dealer couldn't guarantee msrp in writing then threaten to go elsewhere bc there's so many subaru dealerships out there that are offering it in msrp and in writing. None of those other dealerships know the official pricing as well but in good faith they've opted to offer it at msrp if and when SOA makes it official. Don't get set up for a hustle, that's all. my dealer at first wouldn't offer it in msrp as well until i told him that i'd take my business else where and magically he told me he'd get back to me. 5 min. later a phone call and a written agreement is drawn up. best of luck, just trying to look out for you bud.

I just heard from SOA that the price is officially $39,999 so all of you get off the waiting list so I can get my damn Blue/Gold one sooner!!! I dont care where I gotta buy it!

Re: Pricing

Its your call if you want to wait till the official price is announced in April or late this Spring because by that time all spots will most likely be filled and you won't be able to get one till 2004. Waiting till April might be a gamble. Do what i did...just call other subaru dealerships in your area. Look it up in the yellow pages or go online then get their phone listings. go down the list and call each dealership and see if they can offer you a better deal then the others. I'm sure you'll be able to reserve one right now, guaranteed for msrp with a refundable deposit. you just have to do a little research. Best of luck.

I heard maybe April or something.....
IF when the picing is released and my dealer cant offer it to me in msrp I will gladly go somewhere else....

I will be in a very weird position when
I find out,..if I peep this to too many people, a crowd will show up, but you know how you want someone else to be able to say,."yeah he's telling the truth, the STI was there...." so yeah, e-mail me and stay in touch and I'll fill you in..
