Question: Can the rear wing be deleted or replaced on the STi??

your choice
it comes down to what you want. looks, performance, etc. somepeople just want their car to "sound and look" fast to the average joe.
i say do what you want. if you want that huge exhaust on ur civic...cool. if you want to throw a wing on a caddy....cool.
if you want to lower a SCHOOL BUS, tint the windows, install a huge hydraulics system, audio system, and put chromed out rims (that keep on spinin), and mod that with performance parts.......give me a call. i mean...cool

I wasn't able to locate the pic of the Silver car I was thinking of but I did find another thread with a Blue unit with its upper half blacked out as originally provided by 'RobMarch' of NASIOC;

I think I remember the thread you're talking about, w/ the silver choped spoiler. I saw it when it was first done. Kind of cool. I'll just have to see how the spoiler looks when i get the car in another month. It looks like a lot of people who didn't like the spoiler at first are really loving it once they got the car...soooo...i'll just wait and see.

Yep, the car looks different/better IRL.
In my case I'm going for stealth/sleeper mode due to aggresiveness of the local cops & sherriff patrols.
My ultra conservative buddy Tom as mentioned in my earlier review hated the idea of the wing untill he saw it IRL on Meridoc's car. At this point I think he might even be hatching a plan to affix a wing to his GTI.
Best of luck with your decision.

^^ Thats one of two.
In the same post there was a pic with the cross bar/surface removed leaving only the base. It was more subtle.
I'm sure some enterprising fellow will develop various STi specific top halfs for those that want something a bit less.

I kinda like the stock WRX wing - the STi just bisects the view too much. Can't see Smokie in the Rearview Mirror!

I think it came off Nasioc and someone said it was a ver 8 wing.
I think it looks sweeter than the last one.
