Where are you located and what dealer gave you this info. Dealers in N.Y. have not heard anything on price or availability as of today. This is a very touchy subject for us STI hopefuls. Please be specific.

 

Not to say Subaru is great about posting the information for the general public, but there is nothing about price up on any of the subaru websites yet. I think the thing everyone is saying is If that is really the price, get it in writing.

 

Is that the dealer invoice price or the customer MSRP ?

My local dealer (Van Bortel, in Victor, NY who are rated second or third in the US for Suby sales and should know their stuff) told me the price would be between $31k and $32k.........but they didn't know whether that was going to be invoice or MSRP. If it's invoice, then I reckon MSRP would be somewhere around $33-$34k ??

Until I see prices on SOA's website or get it in writing from my dealer I think it's all conjecture at this point.

I'd be very (pleasantly) surprised if MSRP was $30k...........can't see it somehow, but let's hope so.

 

The March 2003 Car & Driver said the STi will be priced at approx. $32K. Seems very reasonable to me, much better than the Evo8 and barely more expensive.

 

I'd bet money that SOA hasn't even set a price yet, much less started telling dealers or anyone else.

 

This month's Road and Track has a paragraph on the STi. The last line says all for around $30,000. Again, nothing tangable, but even more rumor to support the theory that the car won't cost $35,000 like was first thought.

anyway i got on list today at dan perkins in milford ct and thay said thay where not sure yet . somewhere around $31,000 to $34,900 ..will stick by the msrp. so lets all hope for $31,000

did they say what number on the list you are? I am supposedly number 6 on the list (as of about 2 weeks ago) at Dan Perkins. I was just wondering what they are up to now.

I put my deposite down 2 or 3 weeks ago and they said there were 5 people on the list. they ddn't say when the list was started, how many actually put a deposit down, etc. They did agree to MSRP and not 1 penny more (i have that in writing :P), and of course a fully refundable deposite.

Did they offer white as a rim color to you guys as well? I bought my MY00 RS from DP 3 years ago, my gf bought her 2000 OBS from them, and 2 of my friends bought ther WRXs from them as well. Decent people to deal with, but wouldn't say they are the top dealer out there, but very good in my book.

well im glad you guys like them as a dealer makes me feel much better thnxs.as for the list must have just started for real then because i asked them about a year ago if the sti was comeing and thay where not sure.. well glad i waited instead of buying a rex ,,almost did but was hoping soa would wake up !!!and boy thay seemed to have hooked us up!!
