my dealer called me 2 days ago and told me to make my $5G check cashable... and that subaru was taking orders on thursdays. I'm sure this has to be true since he said my check will be cashed. Anyone else heard this?

 

You don't mean make the check payable to cash do you? That would really scare me. I'm hoping you mean have the $5000 there for them so the check doesn't bounce.

 

I would agree with Josh on this. From what I have heard, there are no "orders" so to speak...my dealer said my information was faxed but simply for information purposes.

How can something be ordered when the final price has not been determined?

I talked with my dealer yesterday same bs, no new info. I am just waiting at this stage...if it is priced too high or the performance numbers are not there I look elsewhere for a car...it is a sweet ride but not the end all be all of sweet cars.

Anyone able to verify this?!? I haven't heard anything from my dealer either (AND I am on like 4 different lists!!!)

I have a feeling someone (maybe me) who is getting their legs pulled here....

 

I've heard nothing from my dealer. I'm number 1 out of 2 people at this dealership. I gave them a $500 refundable deposit the week after the STI was released in detroit. They wrote me up a sales order and that was basically it. When they know more they'll call, and they haven't called yet. I stop in once every other week or so to see what they know. I'm stopping out tomorrow to get some parts so I'll stop in and ask what they know. Being outside of philly/ Cherry Hill NJ, it makes for good communication between Subaru and this dealer. So far eveything they've told me has been on the money. I'll post if I find anything else out. I'm guessing these other dealerships are calling peopl on there lists because they;ve found out how few cars they are getting and have lots more than that on there lists. They are just trying to get a feel for how many people are going to back out when the cars show up.

I stopped by at my dealer the other day and he told me no new news on the STi yet, but "Lance Armstrong is going to be the new Subaru spokesman." ??? WTF? The dude is cool and all, but, like I give a s*#@ about that...

 

The best I could get out of my dealer was...

"Your color order has already been placed with Subaru"

Who the heck knows what that means....

Stopped off at "my" dealership yesterday to pickup some parts and chatted for a bit. To the best of there knowledge nothing has changed or is new. '04 style Imprezas are due in about a month. That's all.
