Have any of you that are on waiting lists actually seen "the list"?

My guy says I am 6th? Sweet. Where is the list? He says there is no list per say, my info was faxed to Subaru in the form of a buy request or something or other. I will be contacted for wheel choices etc when the time is right.

My deposit is down...but?

Anyone else seen a list written in blood with their names on it compared to anybody else?

Just curious.

Anyone else buying at Dulles Motorcars in VA? Maybe we can form an alliance of sorts ;-)

Also does SOA have a build tracking system like BMW/Audi where you can get status of your car...being built, on the boat etc?

I've got the same deal as you. There is no physical list. I placed an order, the info was faxed that day to SOA. The next day I got a call from the sales manager telling me the "factory wants your color and wheel choice by monday." After that it is just a waiting game. From what I understand the system for the STI is the same as what was used for the WRX. You put in a pre-order. When the ship hits the dock they look at what is on the ship and match it up as best as they can with what's on the list and they send them off. So, even if you are the first person on the list and you ordered white, but the entire shipment was blue, then you're out of luck until the next ship. So if the person that ordered an STI after you at the same dealership ordered a blue one, he might actually get his car first. Follow? It kind of sucks for the end consumer, but unless they were only building to order it would be way to hard to actually ship cars in the order they were ordered.

So, no actual list at my dealership either, but I'm only one of two and I know the other guy!
