I would prefer Subby only, but any auto enthusiast would be welcome to help "build the brand" and "Convert the Heretics"
We are looking for August timeframe for this. So plan a trip for the wife then.

Maybe not this weekend.. (way too short on notice for us "married with kids" guys)..but certainly in another 2 weeks (after July 4th?).
Janq,
I'd be happy to help organize more, if this conflicts with current work load etal..

Lets split the difference as folks seem to be eager to get together...a very good thing.
I'll work toward planning what I had in mind for the fall as an end of summer 'tech day'. It takes time to do stuff as there is a need for scheduling and all manner of planning.
But then also I'm a stickler for organization and doing it tirght the first time.
Meanwhile, lets plan to just get together and kick-it as a group locally. That could be done anytime...just pick a rally point, date & time.
How about the Starbucks in the shopping plaza across the way from Stohlman Subaru/Mitsubishi. It's right next to 'Bikes USA', 'Tower Records' and 'Pier 1 Imports'.
I think of that spot as its close to all major hwy's & roads (I-495, RT. 66, Rt. 7), well known and easy to ID from Rt. 7 if you're not familiar with the roads.
Oh, and be sure to bring a cell phone or GMRS for on-road communication purposes.
How's that for an 'action plan'?

The reason being is that it takes a good amount of time & effort to contact all the proposed corporate participants, verify interest & employee availability with my buds @ Fitzgeralds Subaru, map out _and_ drive the proposed route, contact a tavern or two to request their approval & support as acting 'rest stops', contact folks at Summit Point to see if we could have a half-day of 'track time' as part of our route, secure GMRS radios for 'volunteers' and rolling 'marshalls', research & contact hi-test fuel providers along the route to negotiate a discounted rate if possible, set a date & time, distribute widely information so that folks are aware of the event...and most importantly wash my car to reduce its crud & shabby appearance factor.
Do all this while managing my regular job as well as home life.
Thats why I'm thinking August or September.

We could plan for a couple of hours or so to hang out and/or go for a short drive. Which leaves us plenty of time to get home and put the kids to bed if need be or rescue mom from babies (me).
For the single folks you'll have plenty of time to get home for a 'S.S.S.' prior to heading out for night life activities et al.
Please, anyone feel free to interject here as I'm only making proposals...

Ok, what the hay...what are you boys doing tomorrow around 3PM? I have to be back home by 6PM to take my wife & kid & neighbors to the Reston concerts but otherwise I was planning to work (and maybe cut the grass).
Is it too late?

Might want a non-drinking place. I might be able to pass for 21 with a fake id but since I'm only 18 there won't be much fun for me at the 'rest stops'.

What ever rest stop is selected will deifinitely be okay for dry folks and non-smokers alike (me). Places like 'Hooters' in Rockville or the biker bar in Leesburg on Main street.
When the day comes, introduce yourself and I'll buy ya a rootbeer!
Regards,

I am supposed to take the Mustang to the "car show" in Manassas tomorrow night, and the honey do list tomorrow afternoon... BUT what the heck at this point I am 80% there.
Starbucks in the shopping plaza across the way from Stohlman Subaru/Mitsubishi. around three sounds like a working plan.
Can someone cross post to NASIOC this - I got locked out.
