March Car magazine review

I just received the March Car issue and they have a brief review of the STI.Overall, they liked it and they qouted a 0-62 time of 4.6 seconds! The British version is down on power compared to ours, however it is available with a "power up "kit that brought it up to 300hp and 299 lb ft of torque,so the car they tested should be similar to what we get. Here is the last paragraph."The STi has become very slightly tauter, and has gained back some of the visual aggression lost in the previous generation. It might be a bit loud for some, but you wouldn't buy one unless you were confident that it had the punch to back up the mouth. The new Subaru Impreza STi works not because it is loud and aggresive, but because aggression is the by-product of serious speed. And this car has seriously serious speed.Believe it."

Along similar lines, the January 29th edition of Autocar (UK mag) contained a review of the STi-Type UK, also equipped with Prodrive's performance package (300 bhp at 6000 RPM and 299 lb/ft torque at 4000 RPM with a kerb weight of 1470 kg = 3234 lbs).
They quoted a 0-62 mph of 4.6 seconds and 0-100 mph in 12.2 seconds, BUT these were manufacturer's claims, not actual test results.
Nevermind, I'm sure the US spec. STi will be seriously quick....certainly quick enough to put the US-spec Evo VIII in its place (hope there are no evolutionm.net people reading this; many of them seem seriously pissed that no testers have yet managed a sub 5 seconds 0-60 for the US Evo VIII).
