Just got my STi, but have some questions.
As of this past Sat I am a proud owner of Silver/Silver STi.
However I think there are some minor problems I will be taking the car in for tomm.
I was just wondering if anyone else has these problems as well.
1.Car pulls slightly to the left. I notice that while driving straight, and hold the steering wheel with both hands, my have to use more force on my right hand to keep the car straight because I find that the car is slightly pulling to the left.
If I let the wheel go, the car slowly starts to drift leftward.
2. Speedometer is in-accurate. On the highway the speed will read I'm doing 80mph when I know I'm travelling much less than that.
With that, again I'll be taking it into the dealer tomm but I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had these problems or know if they are common occurances.

Congrats on the new ride. My favoite color combination!
1. My alignment was way off from the factory. That is probably your problem as well.
2. The speedos are off slightly. Looks like 80 indicated is 75mph.

That devalues the car and would anger me.
Cmlnr,
Many German cars are worse than that. I think BMW is the worse. My boss's M5 says it is doing 100mph, but the trip computer (which is based on the odometer says it is doing 92. It can set to beep at a certain mph). This information was in either car and driver or one of those magazines a year or two ago (do a search).
Fortunately, I do not think the MPH speed reading impacts the actual odometer. You can easily check this by driving on any highway and use your tripometer to see if the one mile marker is truely the one mile on your odometer. If so, then you are set.
I will have to agree that is better to feel faster than getting a ticket. It is like setting my clock faster.
Best wishes,

Just so no one gets the wrong impression, my STi alignment was and is fine.
As to the speedo, I haven't checked it, but every car I have owned, whether American, German, Japanese, or Italian ran fast by at least 7% and my gut tells me the STi is no exception.

I know for sure my odo is off by exactly 4 mph at 65 mph.
During my trip across the terrible roads in PA I went through 5 construction zone signs with radar speed feedback and at each one I purposefully set my cruise control to blast through them at 65 mph (regardless of the posted speed).
As such each time the radar would indicate a speed of 61 mph while my speedo was reading 65 mph. Its a nice 'feature' which worked to keep me out of trouble with Johnny Law.
As for the alignment, I suspect I have the same issue as most others. I'm going to recheck my air pressures first though before visiting a dealership.
