I want an STI so bad I am going crazy
All I have to do is make the payment work. Right now I have a 98 Ford Expedition and an old beater 89 Acura Integra. I am seriously scheming here, I know the acura has almost 0 value, but I could trade the expedition in and get a Impreza Wagon for the wife/kids AND an STI for me, it could be somewhat reasonable if it comes in at less than $800 a month. Damn thats a lot of money, but I tell you I am going crazy without the STI!

Any tips for making this deal work with the dealer?

Talking to myself here, I went to my local dealer and tried to make a deal. They wanted $5000 over MSRP and would NOT budge. I told them I would not pay over MSRP, they told me to go elsewhere. I made 2 phone calls when I got home, I am driving 3.5 hours on Saturday to a dealer that will sell me a silver STI for MSRP. I called my local dealer and told him, Ha Ha!

Ken Fowler Motors Subaru
Ukiah CA.
He has two, a blue and a silver. Silver wheels on both I believe.
You want to know something funny, my local dealer has been calling me all day trying to sell me the car for "a deal you can't refuse". Even if last night I hadn't decided against buying the car now, I would drive the 3.5 hours to Ukiah as the dealer here has really pissed me off. They seem very dishonest, which may come with ALL car salesmen, but I just can't take the blatant lies.

I'm in Santa Rosa, and it's hard to find 'em down here. Prestige Imports never has STi's on hand. You have to go into San Jose, or to Marin, San Rafael. Which isn't that bad, but, it sucks not being able to just go 10 miles to the local guy for an STi.

It defilinely is a pain in the **** when you can't just drive a few blocks to get the damn thing. Dealers KNOW for a fact you will not pay any BS markups yet they try anyway to pull one over on you. Then when they realize damn, I p'd this potential sale off, they start talking about "deal you can't refuse!", too little too late.
I have told all the dealers in my area, Virginia Beach, about VanBortel Subaru's 400 over invoice price and they gag. I actually have one of the close dealers down to MSRP after showing him the websites of other Subaru dealers at MSRP or below. Only problem with the one I'm trying to get the STI at is they have a Black one and I want a Silver. They are only aloted 1 since they are new. They said they will see if they can order me a Silver Silver but no promises. So I'll most likely have to get one from a dealer 350 miles away, o well.

I feel your pain bro, but good things come to those who wait. That is too true, especially when making a major purchase. I've got my order in at Van Bortel, lol. 96 person list. May time frame. Looking at an '05 from them. Still searching near the area for an MSRP $x deposit dealer.
