How to get OEM Sti floor mats from Canada
If you are looking for OEM floor mats for your STi don't pay the crazy Ebay prices and don't buy custom mats if you really want the OEM ones.
Go to SOC's web site at www.subaru.ca. There is a dealer locator in the "Subaru Network" portion of the site. I looked up 8 - 10 dealers located towards where I live in the US and started calling them. All of the dealers I spoke to said the mats are back ordered but that they had already shipped several sets to US customers and that they would be happy to take an order from me. I found one who already had several sets on order. He agreed to hold a set for me. 3 days later they were in stock. I paid over the phone with Visa and it only took one week to get them from Toronto to Ohio. They arrived yesterday and they look great in the car.
The mats retail for $118 CAD which is about $89 USD. Shipping was $19 USD and tax was $16 USD for a total of $124 USD. Still not cheap for floor mats that should have come with the car but better than $250 for a set off of Ebay.
Also, several dealers told me that Subaru is aware of the backorder situation and that it is a result of US customers buying mats from Canada for their Sti’s. They are supposedly working on resolving the problem. I would think that this means the mats should be available through US dealers soon.
