How do you do a proper engine cleaning?

There is this stuff called degunk(or deguk, I forget). It's for cleaning all types of grease on various mechanical parts(including motors of course). It works really good, but you still have to keep up on cleaning the motor or it will be a ***** to clean if you procrastinate. You can find it at any auto parts stores. Oh yea, and all you have to do is spray it on the motor, leave it for like a minute or so and then just hose it off(of course when the motor is cold).
whatever you do, dont use a high pressure hose. heck even using a regular garden hose with a "jet" spray attachment can do some damage in there.
last time i cleaned the engine on my truck (that get's dirty from 4 wheeling), i used 2 cans of engine cleaning spray.
first can was used to loosenn things. then i remove the spray gun from the hose and just let the water out of hose wash out the gunk.
then second can was used to finalize the cleaning.
