i just moved to houston a few months ago. im 2nd in line for my STi at my dealership. should be getting it the first week of june. i was just wondering if any one on here is from the southeast houston area. and if they know of any local hang outs for imports, events, ext...

I thought West Houston Subaru kicked *** too until I went to pick up my STI. We had agreed to MSRP a couple months ago but instead he tacked on $6K plus over $2K for a stereo I didn't ask for. Total was over $40K. I bought my WRX there and sent a friend to them who also got one. Unbelievable! So if you see a Blue STI on 610, it was probably suppose to be mine but instead some poor sucker just couldn't say no.

 

I am 9th at Gilman SW and supposedly mine is coming end of June as well. We can pretty much pick any old place to hang out and the wannabe's will flock. I have seen a few gas-stations crammed with High School kiddies w/ Camaro's and Civics, but as for somewhere worth hanging out it may be really tough right now. The Dunvale K-Mart fiasco where hundreds of people were arrested has the 'scene' on hold, at least for me. I used to hang out at the Coney Island on Westheimer by 610/Galleria but that was on my Triumph Daytona...still saw some awsum cars come through though, and since Coney Island enjoys the business of the racerboys they keep it legal to hang out, just don't race in front of the place as it is watched by HPD.

 

I got mine at Gillman SW last Saturday. Have my name on a Blue/Gold at another dealership. If you want email me. It's there and they want to sell it right now.

 

How much did you pay for yours? The blue one I saw at North is way over MSRP.

 

Paid 32500 plus the usual TTL. The Blue/gold is MSRP

 

Did you need to pay the 2 yrs/24000 miles dealer service for $595 and paint protection sealant for $695?

 

From what I understand, all cars now come with a 'clearcoat' finish on their paint. As for the $600 dealer maint, what do they do at the 12k and 24k mile checkups? I change my own oil/filter to ensure I get synthetic in my car (heard bad stories about recycled oil used when synthetic paid for) and as for looking at belts etc, I feel confident I can cover that one. Do we set valves on these motors? Other than that, I can't think of anything relevant that is done by 24k miles except maybe a fuel filter...

 

The question is for nakajimadream, when I tried to get mine at SW Gillman, thats what they charged me for.

 

aw hell, was your dealer Naser Yousef? I hope he doesn't try to pull that crap with me...that's $1k I sure don't need to spend!

 

It was someone else, but will end up with Naser anyway cause he's the manager there. If you don't want it, they'll say people behind you are willing to pay 2-4k on top of what they charge. (I do believe that because there's a person behind me on the list did that)
