Fog Lights?
Ok what are we to do about the fog light situation with these cars.
I dont want the tiny pool ball Subaru regular fogs the look ****ty in my book.
Ive seen the *** spec ones which look great, BUT they dont fit with the american larger bumber beam.
So what do we do. Also i guess we have to purchase the entire plastic piece that goes under the cover to make what ever fog lamp fit.
Has anyone done this or have any ideas. I would actully like driving lights, i just call it the fog light hole for simplicity.

Money,
You don't need foglights in an STi.
For regular driving the stock HID's work fine.
When driving in an overly dark area with no oncoming traffic or you following just actiavte the highbeams. If you need to illuminate the ground as you drive turn the 4-position low-beam headlight adjuster to the setting that best meets your needs and the road/weather conditions and be on your way. No extra weight, expense, trouble & mods (big lamps) are required.
Have you actually ridden in an STi yet?

yes jang i have
Ive had my STi for about 2 months. However like i was kind of getting to i really dont want fog lamps just driving lights in there place. I can always use the extra light for high speed night driving and to tell the truth the *** spec ones really look great.
Look at the rally cars with 6 or 8 light on the nose, cant tell me light does not count. And all that adjustment *** does is make things worse unless you have a trunk for of lead.
So its a i want more light (driving lamps) and well it just looks good to me kind of thing. Those fancy STi fog covers cant be there for no reason.

When did you get it?
I knew you were in line but didn't realize you'ld akready had one.
Anyway, I agree with you in regard to driving lights (clear), that would in fact be helpful. The fogs aren't needed (amber) though I have to disagree with you as I use the heck out of my adjustment **** and found it to be a great tool and when set correctly for the right road & ambient light condition is a great help. As for "lead" in the trunk I thnk you maybe mistaking its function for the auto levelling feature on some vehicles (with or without HID's).
Those covers are nothing more than covers, blinds.
The WRX fog's will fit them fine though you don't like the small bulb. Your only other option is to replace the entire front bumper bea with a JDM unit which someone did in Jult and posted the whole ordeal at NASIOC. It was neither cheap nor easy but he got it done.
Keep in mind though that when you turn on your fogs (when installed) the highbeams do not function and vice versa. You would have to rig up a wiring workaround (go to Scoobymods.com) to faciliatate what you truly desire.
Good luck...

My first payment was due August 17th so about a month plus before that. I had a WRX and live in Mississippi and i called a Tallahassee Fl dealer who had one and he said sure if you drive down right now ill give it to you at sticker. So at 1:00 in the afternoon on a saturday i jumped in my car, drank alot of coffee and came home with my STi.
Funny i had a silver WRX and now a silver STi. Everyone keeps saying hey nice rims when did you get em. Got 3600 miles on it already.

The entire bottom clip of the bumber comes off so that gives us something to work with. The hole behind the cover is HUGH and very odd shaped. THere must be a perfect light and piece for this gapping hole.
PLEASE, not the dumb little clear pool ball!

OH yeh
THat size or even bigger. The problem is with the hole under the STi lens cover. I need something that works with that shape. If you have a light/piece that works with it, id love to buy it. Thanks greg

Question?
Our American STi have a larger "bumper bar" than the *** Spec ones which is why bigger fogs could not be fit in. How is it that the one you have does fit?
Does it sit lower, or is it more shallow. I am very interested but just want to make sure of what im getting into. Thanks
